Duncan Bay/Penzance/Elaine Bay
These give the best access to the Chetwodes, Titi Island, Forsyth Island, Alligator Head, Cape Lambert and Port Ligar, Waitatata Bay and outer Pelorus Sounds
Camp Grounds and accomidation are available at Elaine Bay Camping Area, Harvey Bay Camping Area and Waitata Bay accommodation with launching sites at Elaine Bay, Penzance Bay and Duncan Bay offering Nelson divers access to the inner and outer Perlorus Sounds. These can al be alternative launching sites for the prevailing north west winds, preventing launching from Okiwi Bay.
The shallow bays usually have butterfish, the points blue cod, kingfish and rocky outcrops harbor the odd crayfish. The best diving is to be had at the outer Pelorus Sound around the Chetwood islands, Forsyth Island etc. with good size crays on offer in great diving country. This area is one of the clubs dive spots when weather out of Okiwi Bay is not as favorable.
Elaine Bay and Waitata Bay Are accessible by traveling through Okiwi Bay and continuing on to these bays, where as Penzance and Duncan Bays are accessible from the Opouri Road turnoff after the Rai valley turnoff.
